Quincy's Planning Board continued a hearing on a 520-unit Newport Avenue Extension project to November 18 after State Rep. Bruce Ayers requested a supplemental Neponset River Bridge traffic study, which Trammell Crow's attorney, David Mahoney, agreed to provide. Ward 3 Councilor Walter Hubley, who had the project continued from July, said he supported the developer's acquisition of adjacent National Grid land for green space, calling it "hell yes." Planning board member Shaughnessy pressed the developer on flood risk and building settlement. The board also unanimously approved two-year permit extensions for 80 Clay Street and 61-69 and 71 Hancock Street, and a third six-month extension, totaling 18 months, for a 34-unit affordable housing project at 45-50 Winter Street led by NeighborWorks Housing Solutions CEO Rob Corley.
A separate hearing on a seven-unit building at 7-11 Burns Avenue was continued to December 9.
