Quincy Sets July 2 Patriotic Celebration to Open Fourth of July Weekend
Mayor Tom Koch has invited residents and visitors to a city-sponsored Patriotic Celebration on July 2 to kick off the Fourth of July weekend, and several municipal facilities are posting holiday closures ahead of the holiday.

The city is marking the Independence Day stretch with a cluster of service notices. Mayor Koch and the City of Quincy are hosting a Patriotic Celebration on Wednesday, July 2, as the official launch of the July 4th weekend — details are on the city's events calendar at quincyma.gov.
On the facilities side, the Department of Public Works has confirmed there will be no delay in waste and recycling collection for the week of June 29. However, the DPW Rear Yard will be closed on Saturday, July 4. Residents should also be aware that the City Hall elevator is temporarily out of service; the city has posted a notice on its homepage.
