Quincy's Zoning Board of Appeals approved two projects and watched a third get withdrawn Tuesday night. Attorney Rob Fleming withdrew French Street, Quincy LLC's bid to subdivide a 10,000-square-foot lot and build a new two-family home after three board members called the plan too big. Neighbor Ken McLeod said his property has taken on two feet of water in past storms and asked whether members would want a neighbor paving "80 percent" of a lot and sending runoff his way.
The board unanimously approved a setback variance letting Houghs Neck Congregational Church build a shed at its Manet Avenue property, and separately approved Willard Street Vet's special permit to expand into a vacant second floor at 176 Willard Street over parking objections from two residents and a city councilor.
