Planning Board · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Quincy's Planning Board approved a site plan and special permit for a Galvin Development project at 576 Quarry Street and continued three other hearings to November 18. Attorney Edward Fleming represented the applicant; the board adopted nine conditions covering stormwater, noise, dust and tree protection. On a separate case, a President's Plaza expansion adding 15,550 square feet of retail, Ward Councilor Richard Ashe warned that a new loading dock "is going to need to be a right turn in only and then also a right turn out only" or risk worsening Quincy Avenue traffic.

Traffic engineer Erin Fredette of Bowman Consulting Group said the main intersection would keep operating at level of service C or better. A 38-44 Carruth Street townhouse proposal from Park Street Realty Partners LLC, offering 15 parking spaces against a required 10.5, also drew resident concerns over setbacks and street parking before its continuance.
