QUINCY — The Quincy Board of License Commissioners approved three licensing requests Tuesday, clearing a holiday expo permit, a new dessert shop, and a 7-Eleven ownership transfer. Chair Crispo led the unanimous votes, which included a special use permit for North Quincy High School's Parent Advisory Council Holiday Shopping Expo on November 14-15, drawing an expected 100 to 150 vendors and food trucks. The board also approved a common victualer license for Ichigo Sweets, a Japanese dessert bakery run by owner Kari Hui subleasing space inside an existing Hancock Street bubble tea cafe.
In the meeting's most discussed item, attorney Sydney Perkos secured approval to transfer a wine and malt beverage license to Squantum Bay LLC's 7-Eleven, with owner Fauzia Faisal as proposed manager. Ward 6 City Councilor Deborah Riley called it "a very exciting female-owned business" and said the transfer had "finally gone forward" after a long process.
