Other Committee · Meeting of August 18, 2026

Quincy's Licensing Board approved a contested billiards hall on Newbury Street and eight other license requests. Spotlight Billiards LLC won a 5-0 roll-call vote for four pool tables at 11-17 Newbury Street, contingent on a three-month compliance review, over objections from residents Tracy Shepard and Wayne Shepard, who said "there's 20 families living on that street" and worried about noise and oversight. The board also approved a liquor license transfer from the closing Gennaro's and Son Italian Bistro and Wine Bar to Jun Taiyan Restaurant at 12 Blanchette Road, a new all-alcohol license for Quincy Golf Lounge at 723 Washington Street, a manager change at Applebee's from Craig Galvin to Ronnie Bilizare, and a common victualler license for Gray's Coffee at 1237 Hancock Street.

One-day liquor licenses were also approved for a Pageant Field charity cornhole tournament and a Quincy Youth Hockey Association event.
